Touch-up Color: Sticks I Mascaras I Sponges I Sprays!

One of the OXX Team members has been down on us to bring awareness to the usage of touch-up products for grey hair... They are the temporary alternatives to semi/demi and permanent coloring and most of them do a pretty good job. We recommend persons with more brittle/damaged hair to actually colorless and use one of the touch-ups in between, but with caution.

First of all, never forget they are impermanent, which means the color will transfer on to clothes and pillows etc. Try covering your hair with a satin headwear when sleeping... Be careful when pulling clothing over your head so as not to ruin your outfit. When greeting others, no one needs to know you are hiding your grays due to color left on them from your hair. "So be aware"!

We realized the mascara touch-ups can and will pull on your hair. As such, it would be better to dab gently as opposed to combing with the applicator. This is especially important for relaxed hair persons. Furthermore, our relaxed hair clients with grey hair who use any one of those touch-up apparatus tend to have more dryness in the sections they apply the color. As such, we have suggested using a small amount of moisturizer in the area before and sometimes after touch-up application. This will buffer the drying effect on the strands.

That said, if there ever was an alternative needed, touch-ups are at the top of the list. No matter how you take it, coloring too often is never a good thing. So being able to hide those unwanted grays without harsh chemicals and lessening color processes is a Plus is our book!

Until Next Week,
